Urban Decay - Primer Potion & 24/7 Glide- On Eye Pencil

Urban Decay - Primer Potion

This primer blends in to a matte finish, hardly visible, holds makeup well (loose pigments especially), intensifies the colour, and eliminates creasing. If you have oily eyelids this would be an ideal primer to use before shadow application. So, long story short, it's a good primer that does what it says, and you don't need a lot of product (a few dabs will do), a little goes a long way!

Will I repurchase? Well to be honest with you, I don't really wear eye shadow that much, (I'm more of a mascara and liner girl) but I guess this will last me a long time anyway, so I'll use it while it lasts. I would recommend for those who like a bit of colour to the eyes as it's a good primer that holds shadow well.

24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil

24/7 Eye Pencil is a 'glide on Eye Pencil', and I couldn't agree more, it 'literally' glides on! The far from solid formula is extremely creamy and soft, allowing a smooth and accurate application which then dries to a waterproof finish.

It contains 50% moisturising ingredients including Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and Cottonseed Oil, and comes in a variety of shades including the colour 'Mildew' from the palette (Preen Shadow Box). This one I own is 'Zero', but I will definitely be purchasing a few other shades!

Price: £11 (1.2g)

TIP: If you find it difficult to wipe eyeliner when removing makeup, then try dabbing some eye makeup remover on to a cotton bud, and gently wipe off areas where your cotton pad/wipes can not clean properly.

The Body Shop: Honey & Oat - 3-IN-1 Scrub Mask Review

This Scrub Mask was purchased a few months ago when I was randomly wandering around in the store, trying to find something to pamper myself with. Now, because I love skincare products, I like to take my time reading, smelling and touching each product, lusting after every single detail, and then wanting every single one of them! However, this time I was in a rush, so trying to absorb all the products around me, not knowing specifically what I'm looking for (but knowing that I can't leave without something), I stumble across this little gem. The word 'HONEY' takes me at first sight (I'm obsessed with honey skincare products!), and I reach out for the tester. Oh my! It smells so good, I just CANNOT resist temptation! It looks so...smooth and delicious...I buy it!

Here it is...

Product information
: Containing Community Trade honey, oatmeal grains and Kaolin clay, the mask works with a 3-in-1 formula intended to cleanse, polish and moisturise: While honey moisturises and sooths the skin, oatmeal grains work as a subtle exfoliant by eliminating dead skin cells and restoring radiance. The smooth and foam-like consistency is due to the Kaolin clay, which gives it that extra 'yum' factor. *Full ingredients can be found on site*

The mousse -like texture and consistency is extremely likable, soft, and glides on without irritating the skin. It is recommend to cleanse face and pat dry before application, leave on for 5-10 minutes, and then gently wash/exfoliate skin with warm water. It can be used 1-2 times a week, but you can decide depending on how your skin feels (once a week is usually enough for me). Once applied it does not dry out, but stays soft and creamy. I experience a stinging sensation on first application, but that only lasts a few seconds.

Verdict - After using several times, I can easily say that I'm head over heels for this product! It's just amazing! It really sooths the skin, leaving it extremely soft and moisturised without irritation. I have used many products for exfoliating purposes, but all have been too abrasive for me. I need something soft that will gently cleanse away my dead skin cells without scratching my skin deeply, and this does exactly that. It's a perfect, subtle, 3-in-1 product that cleans and replenishes the skin after use. I really don't have any negative comments about this product - love it!

Price: £7.50 (100ml) NORMAL/DRY SKIN

*The Body Shop take pride in using Community Trade honey sourced from the tropical forests of north west Zambia, and by buying products containing Community Trade honey, you help contribute to the preservation of the forest and the beekeepers' way of life.

Next on my list:
  • Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask- helps balance the skin tone and purify complexion.
  • Vitamin E SPF15 Moisture Lotion - defence against harmful sun rays
  • Vitamin C Daily Moisture SPF15 - help revitalise skin, leaving it smooth and silky
  • Vitamin E Face Mist - for setting makeup, instant moisture and protection
  • Camomile Gentle Eye Makeup Remover - gentle eye makeup remover that conditions eyelashes.

Project: After watching a programme which I was extremely inspired by, I decided it was about time I made my own masks! It looks exactly like the masks pruchased from drugstores, but inexpensive and natural, so you know exactly what your skin is absorbing. Should be fun!

Urban Decay - Preen Shadow Box Review

Preen Shadow Box is a limited edition palette which consists of 6 shadows, 2 of which are exclusive to this palette: Painkiller (shimmery turquoise) and Snatch (light peachy-pink). The box also includes a mini Primer Potion (eye primer), and an Eye Pencil in 'Zero', you can check them out HERE. The packaging is pretty, ideal for travel and equipped with a mirror for on-the-go makeup.

Swatch...(eye shadows are applied over Primer Potion)

Snatch - soft shimmery peach, makes a great highlighter, looks amazing with Smog and Toasted.

Mildew - dirty army green, slightly metallic, team with Snatch, Smog and Toasted to create a smokey eye. Reminds me of Mac Humid eye shadow.

Flash - a vibrant purplish -violet, can be toned down, or mixed with Painkiller for a more playful look.

Painkiller - bright turquoise, goes well with Flash and Snatch.

Smog - golden brown, looks good with neutrals; golds, greens and beige.

Toasted - light brownish taupe, team with Smog and Snatch for a neutral look.

They are all highly pigmented with great colour pay off, very glittery, easy to blend and stay on through out the day. Personally, I find the colours very attractive, and love the velvety gem-like texture which is inspired by the shades of a peacock. With this palette, can easily achieve the neutral, vibrant and smokey look you are after.

Price: £18.00 (estimate)

Lipsticks I'm loving right now

Currently, there are two lipsticks that I wear - Rimmel Volume Booster Lipstick 'Foxy' in 102, and Barry M Lip Paint 'Peachy pink' in 147. I have been using them for the past few weeks, and I'm totally loving it!

Rimmel 'Foxy' 102, Volume Booster Lipstick

Like all Rimmel lipsticks from the range, Foxy smells yummy! In fact, it smells so yummy that I sometimes just apply to adore the smell, not to mention that it feels super sexy on the lips! The texture is very creamy and glides on with ease. I love the colour and shine, it's quite neutral with a hint of pink. It reminds me of Mac 'Hue', but Foxy is a slightly darker shade.

Swatch...

Enriched with volume boosting collagen and hyaluronic spheres, it claims to plump lips by up to 40%... There is a definite tingling sensation when applied, and I do think it makes the lips appear somewhat fuller.

I will be repurchasing as I think it's an inexpensive lipstick that lasts a long while.

Barry M 'Peachy Pink', 147 Lip Paint

Barry M's Peachy Pink lp 147 is from the new Lip Paint collection for summer. I can't begin to express how impressed I am with the colour because I simply adore coral, and this lipstick is spot on!

Swatch...

The texture isn't as creamy and a few repeated applications are needed to achieve a smooth and even look. I dab some Carmex on my lips before applying to enable a smoother application. However, I do like the consistency and matte appearance as I think it makes my lips appear fuller.

Will I be repurchasing?... You Bet!

Peachy Pink is the only lipstick I purchased from the new collection, as I feel the colours are too similar to lipsticks I already own, and I was too mesmerized by this one to even notice!

Do you have any lipstick obsessions at the moment?
